Report on the third Ordinary meeting of General Assembly of the Bawku Municipal Assembly held on 17th December, 2020 at the Municipal Conference Hall.
The third Ordinary meeting of the Bawku Municipal Assembly was held on the 17th of December, 2020 at the Municipal Conference Hall. In her address to the Assembly, the Municipal Chief Executive extended her warmest appreciation to Honorable Members for the support towards the development of the Municipality. She commended the Security agencies and the Bawku Inter-Ethnic Peace Council for their role in maintaining peace in the Municipality especially before, during and after the 2020 Presidential and Parliamentary Elections. She touched on a few developments that had taken place since the second Ordinary meeting such as the payment of the remaining fifty percent ex-gratia of Honorable members, furnishing of the Conference Hall and the construction of its washing rooms etc.
She urged Honorable members not to relent in their fight against COVID-19 as it was not all over. She added that the nation was experiencing the second wave of the disease which has been found to be more deadly. She appealed to members to strictly adhere to the safety protocols and also join the sensitization campaign to create more awareness and education.
Hon. Members also discussed the Executive Committee and Public Relations and Complaints Committee reports thoroughly after moving the motion to adopt it as working documents of the Assembly. Members also discussed the election of representatives into the Electoral College mandated to elect a member of the Council of State for the Upper East Region of Ghana. Hon. Members reposed their trust in the Honorable Presiding member and the Municipal Chief Executive to select the said representatives.
